Pastor J. Christopher Smith,
Senior Pastor

Email: Pastor Smith

Education:
· Philadelphia College of Bible, now Philadelphia Biblical University, B. S. 1966
· Faith Theological Seminary, M.Div, 1970

Testimony:
Was saved at age 11 in 1955; my family was planning a move to Dallas, Texas so my dad could attend seminary. One night I lay awake thinking about what would happen to my soul if our plane crashed and I died with out Christ. I knew I would spend eternity in hell. I called for my mother who led me through the plan of salvation and asked Jesus Christ to be my Savior. I was baptized on Christmas evening, 1955 in First Baptist Church of Dallas, TX by my father.

Personal Information:
Pastor met his wife Kathy in 1963. His mother was responsible for bringing Kathy's mom to the Lord, and subsequently, Kathy and Chris met when she started coming to his church. They were married in September, 1967 at First Baptist Church, Hackensack, NJ.

Chris and Kathy have four daughters:
Jennifer, married to John, lives in Chicago area, four children;

Sarah, married to Mike, lives in Sharon Hill, PA, one daughter;

Gwen, single, lives in Holmes, PA;

Amanda, single, lives with Mom and Dad

Experience:
CBC was pastor's first church immediately upon completing seminary. The Smiths started here in June, 1970 and served for 12 years till 1982; spent 4 years at church in Cedar Grove, NJ before moving on to Folcroft Union Church in Folcroft, PA, a suburb of Philadelphia. They served at Folcroft for 15 years before the Lord called them back to CBC where they started their second phase of ministry in December, 2001.

Interests:
Pastor enjoys traveling with Kathy: they have been to Israel and Jordan a couple of times; in the summer of 2002, they went to Norway and Sweden. Chris is an avid golfer and also enjoys woodworking, especially building furniture for his family.

    Pastor H. Lee Thompson,
Assistant Pastor

Email: Pastor Thompson

Besides preaching God's Word in an energetic manner, he and his wife. Barbara. have consistently demonstrated their love for the Lord and for each member of our congregation in many ways They encourage each person to seek God's will in their life and for each member of Calvary Baptist to understand and carry out God's commands found in the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20) and in Christ's Great Commandment of love (Matthew 22:37-39).

Pastor Lee and Barbara have brought to CBC a rich background in service to our Lord from both their missionary experience and pastoral duties. Ordained in 1964, Pastor Lee served as Associate Pastor at Trinity Baptist Church in Pleasantville, N. J. for one year before serving on the mission field. For the next twenty six years, he and Barbara served in Brazil, planting and developing six different churches, teaching, lecturing and still finding time to raise four children. Three of these are now married and have become the parents of the Thompson's ten grandchildren.

Upon returning from the field, Pastor Lee served for eight years as Senior Pastor of Brookdale Baptist Church in Bloomfield N. J. before assuming the Senior Pastorate at Calvary Baptist Church of Flemington NJ. Pastor Lee serves as the Assistant Pastor, overseeing Discipleship ministries at Calvary Bible Church.

Pastor Lee holds a B. A. in Biblical Literature from Northeastern Bible College and a Master in Ministry from Bible Baptist Seminary.

Keith DeLorme,
Music Director

Email: Keith

I am quite an unlikely man to be serving as the music director of Calvary Bible Church. However, I believe that the Lord qualifies those He calls… and He has been faithfully preparing me for His work for many years. Having graduated from Nyack College in 1995, I began teaching history to middle school students. I married my wife, Cyndi and was blessed to date with four sons. In the year 2000, I was serving in a church that was in need of a praise team coordinator. Although I had played the French horn for many years, I had never sung in a choir, had no formal musical training and had been sure to not sing out with much volume in church either. But believing that the Lord was calling me, I shocked all who knew me including my wife by taking the job. The more I served the Lord in that capacity, the more joy He added to my life.

After about four years I was led to Calvary Bible Church where God opened doors to allow me to continue in leading the music ministry. Leading God’s family in worship has been the joy of my life! Praise Him for using the most ordinary of vessels to accomplish His work.
